This large bridge, built in 1931, is styled like San Francisco's Golden Gate. Even in a city of bridges, the St. Johns stands out. Four-hundred-foot towers and a main span of more than 1,200 feet comprise its huge proportions. It is the only suspension bridge in the city made entirely of steel. Views from it reveal the city and the waterways that made Portland a commerce hub. Views of it from other bridges or either bank of the Willamette River are incredible.
