Ulysses S. Grant House

Quartermaster quarters
1101 Officers Row
Portland, WA 98661
+1 360 694 5252
In the 1850s, Ulysses S. Grant lived in this grand old house while he served as quartermaster at the Vancouver garrison. The first of 21 houses to be built on Officers Row, Grant's quarters were always intended to be the commanding officer's home. After his presidency, the house was renamed for the general. Now the historic site is on display and open to the public at no charge. The Grant House Folk Art Center exhibits Northwestern art here, as well. Admission is free.
