Boat rental on the Moldau |
Slovanky Island Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2171 4444 (Tourist Information Centre) |
Next to the National Theatre on Slovanky Island, boats can be rented for navigating the Moldau River. You have a choice of either a paddle boat or a row boat for half an hour or more. Since the river is dammed for various reasons, the current around the island is not strong and is therefore easy to navigate. The rental rates are reasonable. This is an easy way to escape from "power sighsteeing" for a while. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Vibrant street market |
Havelska Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 217 1444 |
In the heart of the Old Town, around 100 meters from Old Town Square, stands the Havelska Street Market. Here, traders sell art, fruit, vegetables, jewellry, toys and anything else small enough to pack on to their open-air wooden stands. On either side of the street are shops that sell virtually everything else, including a herbal store that sells herbs and teas. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hall of mirrors |
Újezd Prague 15000 Czech Republic +420 2 5731 5212 http://www.pis.cz/en/prague/mo... |
The Mirror Maze is in Petrin Park, near the Petrin Observation Tower. It resembles a medieval castle and has a hall of mirrors inside, to the confusion and delight of children and parents alike. The building also houses a large, realistic painting of the Czechs and Swedes battling for control of Charles Bridge in the mid 1600s. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This is a new playground for children aged up to around 8 years. It is situated in Petrin Park, where Stefanikova meets Holeckove. The play equipment is new and imaginative and the area itself is spacious. There are also plenty of benches dotted around for parents. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beautiful setting |
U Trojskeho zamku 3/120 Prague 17100 Czech Republic +420 2 9611 2111 / +420 2 9611 2230 http://www.zoopraha.cz |
Built against and on top of a rocky precipice, Prague Zoo features more than 10km of walks among the animals, rare plants and tree species. It is possible to take a chair lift up the cliff. The animal enclosures are often large and very similar to the native habitats. There is a children's corner as well as a baby changing centre available. The sylvan setting of the zoo is enhanced by lovely views of much of Prague from the upper areas. Review © 2007, Wcities |
