Am-Mex cooking with Czech touch |
Anny Letenske 16/916 Prague 12000 Czech Republic +420 2 2225 0594 |
Teli Sevalis would be proud to dine at Amigos (formerly Kojak's), hiding unassumingly on a corner in the charming Vinohrady neighborhood. The down-to-earth joint specializing in Am-Mex cooking has a living room feel, perfect for unwinding after a long day—detective or otherwise. The telephone book sized menu in both English and Czech spans the world of American cooking with steaks and baked potatoes along with a clever twist to Czech cuisine. The huge Tex-Mex selection of burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas or chimichangas hint that someone in the kitchen has spent time Stateside. Try the excellent Black Bean Soup as a starter before digging in to entrees. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cheerful post-theatre option |
Masarykovo Nabrezi 38 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 (0)2 29 3008 |
This long-time local favorite located directly behind the renowned National Theatre is an inexpensive pre or post-theatre choice. Most entrees are under EUR5 and includes the Prague Shark with Wine Sauce. Seven types of beefsteak come in a bit more expensively and - word to the wise - better to save these for after the show. It has a chummy neighborhood atmosphere and it's not at all surprising to see local theatre dignitaries hanging out here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Meat Lovers' Paradise |
Krížovnická 8 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2232 1926 |
Don't let the pretty name fool you as this place specializes in meat, particularly steak. Over forty different meat dishes are on offer. Despite the somewhat dim and moody atmosphere, this place is popular among young male carnivores with cash. Cigar smoke wafts freely throughout. The service is good and the bar is well stocked. Popular Western restaurant |
Vodickova, 9 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2494 8624 http://www.buffalobill.cz/ |
Popular with expats and tourists, Buffalo Bill's serves up an Am-Mex menu, with a theme of the American West, with cowboy outfits lining the walls. Dig into well-prepared steaks and ribs, or one of the treats of the American Southwest, such as burritos or tacos. Expect live country and western music in the evenings. Well-poured Czech brews go nicely with the cuisine. Open till midnight, the restaurant staff is decked out in cowboy garb. Buffalo Bill would be proud! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Carnivore's paradise |
Vaclavske namesti 11 Kenvelo Center Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2162 9410 http://www.el-gaucho.cz |
This restaurant serves arguably the best steaks in town. The chefs at this rustic-style Argentine restaurant attribute the splendid taste to their secret combination of organic tenderizing and perfectly calculated cooking times over charcoal fires. Hearty portions of thick cuts - from rib-eyes and top sirloin to tenderloins and T-bones - make this place a paradise for steak lovers. Grilled chicken and fish dishes round off the menu and the well-stocked bar might make it hard to get up and leave! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Traditional Czech with International influence. |
Korunni 23 Prague, Prague 12000 Czech Republic +420 2 2251 1348 / +420 2 2251 4485 http://www.rudybaron.cz |
Keep an eye open for the enormous airplane propeller above the front door and you won't miss this restaurant. The place has a cozy feel with hardwood tables and chairs and crafty accessories that will remind you of home. To compliment the pleasant aura is a very local neighborhood crowd. The menu is not cheap but is competitive with inflated city center prices. The cuisine consists of traditional Czech favorites but expect an international flare to each dish. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Modern medieval & specialising in steaks |
Corner of Zitna Street and Karlovo Square Prague 12000 Czech Republic +420 2 2223 2315 / +420 602 25 9380 http://www.ariadneclub.com/res... |
A restaurant fit for a King! The interior of this eatery may pleasantly surprise you. The decor is tasteful, with tall brick walls and delicate arches and a wood paneled dining hall in the rear. Sit at the bar under the wagon wheel chandeliers and enjoy this modern medieval atmosphere. The selection of food is not particularly diverse, as this restaurant specializes in steaks. Choose from an impressive menu from fillets to sirloins to Wiener schnitzel. Don't miss an opportunity to visit this establishment and dine from the quality menu or soak up the atmosphere at the bar.
