Built in the 19th century by the Viennese architects Helmer and Fellner on behalf of Prague's German population and actually opened in 1888, this ornate theatre is second only to the National Theatre amongst Prague's theatres. Velvet and gold decorations make it worthwhile venturing inside for a look. The theatre is right by the National Museum at the top of Wenceslas Square. Review © 2009, Wcities
