Moored on the Vltava |
nábr. Ludvíka Svobody 1 110 00 Praha 1 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2481 0541 / +420 2 2481 0547 http://www.botelalbatros.cz/ |
Those who want the Vltava River to be more than just part of the romantic scenery should climb aboard this unique boat hotel. Cheap and comfortable, it puts visitors within an easy walk of all the sights and the friendly staff can help with arranging tours and providing information on cultural events in Prague. It is a good option to keep in mind as other places fill up during the high season. The restaurant serves up tasty local dishes. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Stunning art nouveau façade |
Václavské námestí 826/25 Prague, Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2421 5387 / +420 2 2422 8215 (Reservations) http://www.evropahotel.cz/ |
The stunning Evropa is a landmark hotel due to the brilliant 1905 art nouveau exterior. Unfortunately, the interior is hugely in need of restoration. That said, its worn appearance is reflected in the prices thereby making for a good central option, especially if you are planning on spending the vast majority of your time walking the city or if you are simply a nostalgia fan who craves the air of fading elegance. The street-level café is a real charmer and popular with locals and tourists alike. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Exclusive luxury hotel |
Pod Bruskou 7 Prague 11800 Czech Republic +420 2 5101 7111 http://www.hoffmeister.cz |
The beautiful Hoffmeister on Castle Hill embodies a turn-of-the-century charm on par with the fine palaces and villas of the romantic Mala Strana section. The hotel is a favorite with art lovers; but perhaps not the best for those strictly on business. Selected artwork by the founder Adolf Hoffmeister fill the large lobby while the cozy rooms feature large mahogany beds and armoires. The wine cellar stocks a selection of rare Moravian wines and the attached Restaurant Ada offers one of the best experiences in the city. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Maximilian has all the grace of "Magic Prague" from centuries past, while at the same time offering guests the modern amenities expected of a four-star hotel. Tucked away in a quiet, cobblestoned stretch of the Old Town, the toned-down elegance of the place makes for a relaxing stay. Facilities include a Thai massage studio and a Floating Center where guests can relax in a bath filled with water enriched with natural crystals. All central sights are within walking distance. A literary treat |
U Obecniho domu 1 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2219 5195 / +420 2 2219 5666 (Reservations) http://www.hotel-pariz.cz |
One of the city's most exquisite examples of art nouveau architecture, the near 100-year-old Hotel Pariz is a Prague landmark, known for its sumptousness and attention to detail. The polished decorative cast-iron railings of its circular, frescoed staircases lead guests to simple, yet tastefully decorated rooms with hand-painted rose motifs. This family-run hotel stands beside the city's most celebrated art nouveau building, the Municipal House, forming an attractive refuge in the heart of the city. Both the Sarah Bernhardt restaurant and Café de Paris fronting the hotel are Prague favorites. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Shrine to Communist-era architecture |
Sušická 20 Prague 166 35 Czech Republic +420 2 2434 1111 http://www.htlpraha.cz |
An over-the-top shrine to Communist-era architecture, the Praha was reserved only for high-ranking Communist Party officials and their guests until 1989. Each simply decorated, low-ceilinged room enjoys an excellent view of the city. A long list of diplomats and performers such as the blues man B. B. King have called this place home while staying in town. As it is a short way out of the center, a car or taxi will usually be required to whisk you into town. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This hotel offers an incredible array of services and amenities that even the most discerning guests will not find lacking. A swimming pool and fully equipped gym will ensure that the gourmet food available at the hotel will be put to good use. And there are solariums, saunas and massages to melt away the tension. Double decker hotel on Smichov Hill |
Mozartova 261/1 Prague 15000 Czech Republic +420 2 5715 1111 http://www.moevenpick-hotels.c... |
Don't let the loud color scheme put you off. This modern, double-decker hotel situated atop Smichov Hill offers top quality rooms and service with a stellar view of Prague. The hotel's real charm lies in the funicular cable car connecting the upper half. If visiting in the summer months, have a drink on the large terrace and watch the city at work below. Catering to business travelers and tourists alike, the hotel also offers an excellent brunch. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Well-kept secret on the Lesser Side |
Nosticova 2 Prague 11800 Czech Republic +420 2 5731 1319 / +420 2 5731 6830 http://www.dientzenhofer.cz/in... |
This small pension is quite the find considering its quiet location in the heart of the Lesser Quarter, reasonable prices and sincere hospitality. Cozy rooms are set off a garden. Dating from the 16th century, the house was the birthplace of Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer (1669-1751) one of the greatest Czech architects. Possibly lacking the wide range of facilities of larger hotels, it is perfect for leisure travelers less concerned with the glitz of luxury hotels. The Castle and Charles Bridge are close but the tourist hordes are not encroaching. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The city's best apartment-style accomodation |
Nosticova 1 Prague 11800 Czech Republic +420 2 5731 2513 http://www.nosticova.com/ |
Residence Nosticova is hands down the best place for apartment-style accommodation in Prague. Fabulously reconstructed at the end of the decade by the city's finest carpenters, ceramists, decorators and painters, the residence is housed in a historic 17th century building on a small, quiet, cobbled street in the Lesser Quarter. For dining, the hotel's 10 rooms each have fully equipped kitchenettes and the popular Alchymist Club Restaurant features an extensive menu of fine Czech cuisine. Located in a quiet area, the hotel is a short walk from Kampa Park and the Vltava River. Review © 2007, Wcities |
