For the beautiful person in you |
Parizska 24 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2232 9221 http://www.barockrestaurant.cz... |
This is one of the very few officially designated mullet-free zones in the city. The uber-chic café/restaurant features an extensive cocktail list. Imaginative daily specials are featured on a chalkboard wall and cost considerably more. The outdoor and open indoor seating make this an ideal spot to people-watch behind your dark Versace shades. The service is discreet but attentive. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Authentic French cuisine. |
Schwaigerova 59/3 Plavecka 4 Prague 16000 Czech Republic +420 2 2492 1853 http://www.bistrotdemarlene.cz/ |
Situated one block east of the Vltava where traditional Czech pubs run rampant, Le Bistrot de Marlene's French menu is a refreshing option. Once you venture past the velvety curtain at the door, a tastefully decorated quaint restaurant awaits. The menu offers a healthy selection of authentic French dishes of poultry and beef. The meal prices are high by Czech standards but all major credit cards are accepted. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sophistication meets eclectic hipness |
Opatovická 5 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2491 6047 |
The French-Californian cuisine mixes and matches the best of two culinary dream worlds. The climax of the fresh, innovative menu is the chef's choice: a five-course taster menu which changes according to his whims. But trust his taste. Otherwise, dive into the smoked corn soup first before testing the grilled quail with steamed spinach or the roasted beef tenderloin with potato truffle. The internation wine list complements everything. The dessert tray will bring even the most demanding sweets connoisseur to his knees. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Slick central Italian |
Havelska 27 Prague, Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 224 214 543 http://www.kogo.cz/ |
Hands down this is the runaway favourite for mid-priced Italian food in a downtown location and for once the crowds have it right. The large menu is excellent, featuring pizza, pasta, meat and fish. Indoor and outdoor seating resemble a sleek Milanese trattoria but without the brusque service. In fact the multi-lingual waiting staff often bend over backwards to accommodate diners even in the face of a packed dining room. As it is especially crowded at lunch, reservations are recommended. Hearty Czech fare served in a brewery |
Vodièkova 20 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2223 2448 http://www.npivovar.cz/ |
Something of a Prague landmark, the relatively unassuming entrance to the Novomestsky Pivovar (or New Town Brewery) hides an extensive, well-decorated labyrinth. Take a seat at one of the long wooden beer hall tables for some hearty Czech fare and tasty pilsners brewed on site. Popular with both locals and tourists, the restaurant's massive pig's knee dish is famous throughout town. Over the last couple of years the staff's reputation for surliness has discouraged many. Make sure you check your bill before settling. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Romantic views from the Dancing Building |
Rašínovo nábreží 80 Dancing House - Tancící dum Prague 12000 Czech Republic +420 2 2198 4160 http://www.laperle.cz/ |
Located atop the most controversial architectural feat of the last decade, the Dancing Building, this restaurant is sassy and knows it. The St. Peter's fish in champagne sauce is a favorite entrée as is the duck breast in port wine sauce. A heavenly dessert tray offers rich chocolate and fruit cakes. Step outside on the rooftop terrace and take in the stunning view of the castle views over coffee or cognac. The Michelin guide claims this to be "the best French restaurant in Prague." Splendid castle view, continental spread |
Valdštejnská 4 Mala Strana Prague 11800 Czech Republic +420 2 5753 0522 http://www.palffy.cz/ |
Housed in the Malostranska baroque palace of the same name, the space attracts a crowd of young professionals, politicians sneaking down from the castle for a bite, and trendy hipsters. The first floor offers a restaurant room, a banqueting hall and a beautiful roof terrace which overlooks the castle gardens. The French menu consists of trout, salmon, poultry, as well as steak and more exclusive seafoods like oysters and swordfish, all elegantly prepared. The main restaurant room is a beautifully decorated baroque salon with fresh flowers on the tables. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Inexpensive french food |
Pštrossova 8 Prague 11000 Czech Republic +420 2 2493 0156 |
A cozy restaurant that happens to serve well-prepared French cuisine at the cheapest prices in town, Vas-y Vas-y offers gourmet dishes and a popular atmosphere. Reservations are definitely a good idea. Recommended are the rabbit in mustard sauce or the pork breast with blue cheese. Fish and salads are also available. A good selection of domestic and French wines rounds off the list. A friendly, unpretentious atmosphere is only augmented by the young, helpful staff. Review © 2007, Wcities |
