Acacia

An exquisite dining experience
3325 West Cary St
Richmond, VA 23221
United States
+1 804 354 6060
http://www.acaciarestaurant.com/
Recognized as one of Richmond's finest restaurants, Acacia adheres to the philosophy that dining should be a memorable experience. Located in the Old Church Building, tiled floors and black lacquered chairs give the restaurant a contemporary contrast to the historic building. A front porch provides seating with a view of Carytown that has been described as the best place for people-watching in Richmond. The menu changes daily to utilize the freshest ingredients and to enhance the season. Main courses feature several choices of fresh seafood as well as poultry and beef dishes. Local softshell crabs are a delicacy when available.

Amici Ristorante

Elegant outdoor dining
3343 West Cary St
Richmond, VA 23221
United States

This delightful restaurant is one of the few fine dining establishments in Carytown. Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine including Carpaccio di Manzo —raw, thinly sliced beef tenderloin with a walnut and honey vinaigrette and Insalata alla Caprese —homemade fresh mozzarella, roma tomatoes, capers, basil and olive oil. Entrees like Gamberoni allo Zafferano —pan seared jumbo shrimp with pancetta, saffron, brandy and cream sauce or Quaglie del Nonno—roasted twin quails filled with sausages in a barbera wine and shallot reduction are delectable.

Step down below the sidewalk into the Fan District's coziest casual spot. This friendly, corner restaurant and bar offers filling sandwiches, light appetizers and cheezy pizzas and the specialty is homemade bread. Choicca's is a dark, quiet place. The clientele is a mixture of students and professionals.

Tantalizing tandoori

Close your eyes as you dine and you can almost hear the trumpeting of elephants and the cries of exotic birds. Farouk's is just that authentic. It is the oldest and one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Located in Carytown, it is convenient to shopping, bars and the Byrd, Richmond's palatial movie theater. Dark and romantic, it is a great place to have private conversations with someone special. The menu features traditional Indian food, including favorites like Tandoori Chicken and exotic curries.

Galaxy Diner

Off the planet and into the future
3109 W Cary St
Richmond, VA 23221
United States
+1 804 213 0510
A futuristic, fun and upbeat environment, Galaxy is located in Carytown, a great area for people watching. If you can, take advantage of the sidewalk tables. Sliding glass doors open when you press a large plastic disc and you find yourself in a bustling environment decorated in bright and metallic colors. Typical diner fare is available with a few twists like fried pickles and monstrous onion rings. It also features an exceptional selection of liquor and beer. Galaxy also has one of the best martini bars in town.

Limani Mediterranean Grill

Enjoy fresh fish
3123 West Cary St
Richmond, VA 23220
United States
+1 804 353 6345
This simple restaurant has one of the best selections of fish in Richmond. Whole fish choices include farm-raised rockfish, yellowfin, red snapper and rainbow trout. Filets include grouper, tuna, Arctic char and swordfish. The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked over a wood fire, infused with olive oil and garnished with lemon. The decor is sophisticated and elegant. Non-fish entrees include Greek chicken dishes and steak.

Zeus Gallery Cafe

Excellent brunch
201 North Belmont Ave
Richmond, VA 23221
United States
+1 804 359 3219
This small, romantic hideaway is a local brunch favorite. It does get crowded, so come early to be sure of a good table and short wait. Work by local artists adorns the walls and chalkboard menus rest upon every table. The superb menu here changes frequently. A favorite dish is Filet Mignon with a Crab Bearnaise Sauce. The desserts are out of this world, particularly the Chocolate Mousse.
