This restaurant, which is particularly famous for its game dishes, has been run by the Venetian Portello brothers for more than fifty years. Although the food is based on Roman recipes there are also noticable Venetian influences. The meat dishes are excellent as are the game and mushroom recipes, but the fish courses and the pizzas (which are cooked in a wood oven) are also of a high standard. Among the specialities are Farro (a type of bean) with prawns and mushrooms, Gnocchi with asparagus and Fusili (pasta) with spiced meat and courgettes. The home-made desserts are delicious.
