Rome |
San Lorenzo is an old Roman neighborhood which is renowned for being youthful and vibrant, because of its closeness to La Sapienza University. It is stocked with pizzerias and boutiques that have replaced old workshops and small markets. People say that the atmosphere and pace of this district is unlike any other district in Rome. It is also home to the chapel of San Lorenzo, the Scala Santa, and the basilica of San Lorenzo fuori le Mura, one of the most important basilica churches and one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome.
