Just walk around |
From Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo Rome, Rome |
Although there are times when traffic is not allowed on the city's main shopping street, via del Corso, it is just a bit misleading: in Rome, there is no such a thing as traffic-free! Taxis, buses, scooters, and just about everything else, will join you as you check out the middle-to-upscale shops, music and department stores and the American-style take-away restaurants. Join the men in business suits as they take their lunches in the beautiful squares, or simply window shop your way from one end to the other. The grand piazzas on each end are worth a visit in their own right but make it a priority to have breakfast in del Popolo (bring cash, it's pricey) and lunch overlooking Piazza Venezia - just the unbelievable flow of traffic is worth seeing, not to mention the mammoth statue. From one great Piazza to another, via del Corso requires some time and attention from all visitors. Review © 2009, Wcities |
