Trendy & Always Packed |
3301 Folsom Blvd Sacramento, CA 95816 United States +1 916 455 2233 http://www.33rdstreetbistro.com |
33rd Street Bistro is an upscale eatery which is usually packed with locals. The trendy-diner decor and menu created by Chef Fred Haines have turned brunch into an especially popular event. The spinach salad with citrus shallot dressing comes highly recommended; try the roast chicken sandwich on focaccia bread for a quick lunch. For dessert, the Bistro's chocolate martini offers a unique alternative to ice cream. Fruit-packed berry pancakes highlight the daily breakfast menu. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wonderful Kosher Grocery Deli |
6436 Fair Oaks Blvd (Carmichael Oaks Shopping Center) Sacramento, CA 95608 United States +1 916 482 6884 http://www.geocities.com/bobdeli |
If it is kosher, this popular Carmichael grocery/deli has it. The shelves are well-stocked with canned goods, cookies and kosher junk food. The "blockbuster" pastrami sandwich with Russian dressing is perhaps the most popular menu item, however, the corned beef sandwich and New York-style pizza are popular as well. A huge selection of other sandwiches, soups, wursts, and hot dogs is also available. The owners will also be happy to cater your kosher events from weddings to Bat or Bar Mitzvahs. Good food fast |
2726 Capitol Ave Sacramento, CA 95816 United States +1 916 443 1180 http://www.cafebernardo.com |
Fast, friendly service and a varied and tasty menu make this place an increasingly popular spot. For a quick meal, the Salmon BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich with a crisp, cold salad on the side is hard to beat. Of course, the Rosemary Pasta with Seared Chicken and Toasted Pine Nuts might sway you. Be sure to get the lemon-olive dressing for your salad. For a hearty start to the day, try good old reliable eggs and bacon, or branch out a little with a breakfast burrito. There are two other locations: one in Roseville at 1563 Eureka Rd (+1 916 773 3778) and the second in Davis at 234 D St (+1 530 750 5101). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beloved Neighborhood Sandwich Shop |
1310 S Street (between 13th & 14th Streets) Sacramento, CA 95814 United States +1 916 448 3237 http://www.eatatdads.com |
Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the hustle and bustle of Sacramento's busy downtown corridor is Dad's, a friendly neighborhood lunch joint famous for its slightly offbeat take on classic sandwich combinations. The menu features 27 sandwiches, both cold and grilled (many with ingredients such as Hungarian paprika, walnuts, pepper plant sauce and wax peppers - and all with names like "Bad Breath Special," "Hot Blonde," "Fat Elvis" and "Bikini Kill"), so decision making can be tough (especially since you can substitute tri-tip on any selection for just 75 cents). Shady sidewalk seating under S Street's canopy of trees makes for an eminently pleasant lunch. See website for full sandwich list, soup and salad options, breakfast menu and event calendar. Pastry shop |
2710 East 5th Street Sacramento, CA 95616 United States +1 530 758 1331 http://www.konditoreidavis.com/ |
Konditorei in German means a pastry shop. Owned and run by the Austrian couple Albert and Gloria Kutternig, this pastry store sells lip-smacking goodies. You would find anything and everything here—cakes, cookies, sweet breads, pastries, marzipan creations, ice creams, tarts and more. If this isn't enough, you can even have a quick breakfast and lunch of quiches, calzones, pizzas and soups. The bakery has just introduced new flavors in Gelatos, which should not be ignored. And finally, with an ambience that spells old world charm, Konditorei can possibly never go wrong! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fantastic desserts in downtown |
2322 K St Sacramento, CA 95816 United States +1 916 444 0969 |
This small restaurant is entirely devoted to dessert. The dining area is a classic 1950s style. The booths and counter stools are done in chrome and pink-and-black vinyl. The huge jukebox plays doo-wop, early rock classics and the occasional bubble gum pop tune. The desserts are memorable. Pies of all kinds are lined up in the display cases, along with towering layer cakes. A couple of slices of chocolate cake oozing with two kinds of chocolate or lemon meringue pie can be meals in themselves. Be sure to bring cash; credit cards are not accepted.
