Sacramento's Aces Supper Club is a fun spot with a vast and varied menu. For instance, the blackened-beef sandwich comes with a smoke flavored Philippine sauce. Munch on some Hong Kong chicken wings or grilled brushetta. Then go for some succulent baby back ribs with Black Jack barbecue sauce. Salads are huge.

The walls are decorated with copper. The menu features Chef Lina Fat's creations, such as Honey Walnut Prawns, Spicy Orange Chicken, and Black Pepper Kobe Beef Stir Fry. Start your meal with appetizers, soups or salads. Mixed drinks, beer and wine are also available. Reservations are recommended and banquet rooms are available.

A favorite is the Seafood Bird Nest, a combination of prawns, calamari, scallops and mixed vegetables assembled in the shape of a bird's nest. The Cashew Chicken is another star on the menu. An interesting twist on its tradition is the "Empress Fitness" menu featuring entrees prepared without cornstarch. The restaurant also has a full bar with lots of variations of pina coladas and daiquiris.

You simply do not find rock shrimp quesadillas, curried pasta and lemon grass under tender chicken strips at any corner diner. The menu features an extensive wine list. Although the service can be slow and erratic at times, the restaurant is still very popular. An upper class Midtown Sacramento crowd frequents this dining spot. After a few dinners with wine, you too, will be a regular.

The flavor from fresh ginger, bamboo shoots, peppers, onions and many other spices jump out at you, but still blend easily with chicken, pork, beef and seafood. Traditional dishes like Laap display the contrast of flavors and textures so familiar to lovers of good Thai food. The Laap entree has a choice of chopped beef or pork mixed with chili peppers, mint, cilantro, green onions and lime.
