Aioli Bodega Espanola

Tapas, Talk & Atmosphere
1800 L St
Sacramento, CA 95814
United States
+1 916 447 9440
The charm and romance of old Spain jump out to greet patrons of this fine eatery. Simple burlap covers the tables surrounded by wall mural paintings. The bar lit by flickering candlelight offers a great place to wait for a table, or just to unwind and meet people. The menu presents an intriguing selection of Spanish tapas, however, the restaurant is famous for the Paella Valenciana filled with pork ribs, chicken, fish and shrimp. Patio seating is available.

Buggy Whip Restaurant

Fine Steaks in Fine Decor
2737 Fulton Ave
#208
Sacramento, CA 95812
United States
+1 916 486 1416
While best known for its great steaks, this upscale restaurant also serves fine seafood entrees. The baked scampi is highly recommended, the shrimp are big and sweet. However, the best of the house is the thick cuts of choice, Washington state-grown beef. Steaks and prime rib are expertly prepared and you taste the beef, not the pepper or other typically overused seasonings. For dessert, try a flavorful slice of New York cheesecake or coconut cream-cheese pie. A nice selection of California wines is also available.

The walls display works from the nearby Barton Gallery, and the menu reflects the warm and comfortable feeling of the decor. A variety of classic Italian pasta and seafood mixtures are always available, while steak lovers can enjoy an excellent rosemary wine-marinated New York steak. While its claim to fame is spaghetti with meatballs, the spinach ravioli in a sage sauce is probably the most popular. The bruschetta toast is also highly recommended. See their website for a full menu.

On weekend evenings, the Demonstration Dinners are five-course meals that last four hours. Throughout the dinner, you will marvel at the chefs working in full view of the dining room in a open kitchen. The menu changes from day to day, but diners can always be sure of the freshest of ingredients and innovative entrees. The prix-fixe dinners are rather expensive compared to most Sacramento restaurants, but the wines are reasonably priced. Reservations are emphatically recommended; all seats can be booked months in advance.
