Andy Nguyen II

Popular Vietnamese Food
10145 Folsom Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95670
United States
+1 916 362 2270
http://www.andynguyenrestauran...
The exterior of this restaurant does not portray the great taste of the food served. Inside, find the flavorful and authentic Vietnamese food, which has established Andy's as one of the best known and popular dining spots in Sacramento. Popular entrees include shrimp & beef over hot iron plates and five spice chicken, which feature Andy's signature good taste. All dishes can be made vegetarian. Beer and wine are also available. The first Andy Nguyen restaurant, located on Broadway near downtown Sacramento, now features an exclusively-vegetarian menu.

Dad's

Beloved Neighborhood Sandwich Shop
1310 S Street
(between 13th & 14th Streets)
Sacramento, CA 95814
United States
+1 916 448 3237
http://www.eatatdads.com
Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the hustle and bustle of Sacramento's busy downtown corridor is Dad's, a friendly neighborhood lunch joint famous for its slightly offbeat take on classic sandwich combinations. The menu features 27 sandwiches, both cold and grilled (many with ingredients such as Hungarian paprika, walnuts, pepper plant sauce and wax peppers - and all with names like "Bad Breath Special," "Hot Blonde," "Fat Elvis" and "Bikini Kill"), so decision making can be tough (especially since you can substitute tri-tip on any selection for just 75 cents). Shady sidewalk seating under S Street's canopy of trees makes for an eminently pleasant lunch. See website for full sandwich list, soup and salad options, breakfast menu and event calendar.

You may wait 20 minutes at lunch for one of the Rueben or Creole sandwiches, but do not give up; the wait is worth it. Located in the trendy Pavilions Center on Fair Oaks, this eatery combines the freshest meats, vegetables and other produce into some of the best sandwiches around. The Creole, combining turkey, zesty Creole mayonnaise, cabbage, lettuce and tomato is a favorite of the large and noisy noon-hour crowd. The wine selection is so extensive that experts are available to help you select a wine.

Come here to savor Indian cuisine, vegetarian as well as non vegetarian. What's different that this restaurant has to offer? It's their own innovation in the traditional recipes! Indian and fusion recipes are fused in to create delicacies never made before. The famous Tandoor dishes, Tandoor chicken and lamb and Tandoor Seafood platter, are something you can't miss trying out. Imagine Bengan Bharta, Dal Makhani, Malai Kofta in Sacramento! The true essence of sumptuous, spicy, Indian food. They also take banquet orders and organize special events and live music.

Tasty tofu

Sacramento, CA 95816

You will find only fresh, healthy produce and meats combined in a wide array of dishes at this popular downtown restaurant-deli-grocery. Delightful deli soups and salads, black bean chili, pasta dishes and a all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet highlights the daily menu. Try the polenta torta (three layers of cornbread, tomato and basil) or the vegetable calzones. The sandwiches are large and made to order. For dessert, try the natural oatmeal or peanut butter cookies. In addition, this shop has a selection of organic produce, vitamins, herbs, seafood, and poultry.

The Bread Store

Take Home a Warm Loaf
1716 J St
Sacramento, CA 95814
United States
+1 916 557 1600
The sandwiches are tasty and almost too large to put in your mouth. A good selection of deli sandwiches, as well as vegetarian specials is available. You can purchase loaves of bread, muffins, cakes and other baked goods. Try the broccoli, cheese and potato soup served with half a sourdough bread bun. Tables are small and the main seating area gets very crowded at lunch, but you can escape to the covered patio seating.
