Sacramento's Aces Supper Club is a fun spot with a vast and varied menu. For instance, the blackened-beef sandwich comes with a smoke flavored Philippine sauce. Start with the salad rolls, which are tiny tubular rice-paper rolls stuffed with the prawns' tiny cousins, baby shrimp, along with mint and fresh bean sprouts. A table of four will be made happy by an order of lemon grass soup, a truly gigantic bowl with lemon grass being the distinctive tone in an orchestra of flavors including chicken and mushroom.

The flavor from fresh ginger, bamboo shoots, peppers, onions and many other spices jump out at you, but still blend easily with chicken, pork, beef and seafood. Traditional dishes like Laap display the contrast of flavors and textures so familiar to lovers of good Thai food. The Laap entree has a choice of chopped beef or pork mixed with chili peppers, mint, cilantro, green onions and lime.
