Student flats to rent for the holidays |
Glockengasse 4b Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 1 512 7493 http://www.allyouneedhotels.at... |
The AllYouNeed Hotel serves as student halls of residence during term time and, from July until the end of the summer, it is a hotel for tourists. It works out well that in the period when most tourists visit Salzburg, the students are away at home or travelling, leaving their halls free for visitors. The location is ideal, at the upper end of Linzergasse in a small quiet sidestreet. The building itself has only been around a few years and with en suite facilities and a telephone in all rooms, it offers a comfortable place to stay at very reasonable prices. Note: only open between July and September. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Largest campsite on the outskirts of town |
Weberbartlweg 20 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 633089 http://www.campingaigen.com/ |
This is the largest campsite in Salzburg and is located on the outskirts of the town, so is relatively peaceful. If you want to get to the city, you will definitely need a car. You can also get to centre of town by bus but it's a 15-minute walk to the next bus stop. The camping ground is open from May to September and offers all usual features such as electricity, water, showers and washing machines. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Not far from the center |
Vogelweiderstrasse 9 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 8727900 http://www.hoteldreikreuz.at |
Not far from Linzergasse you find this hotel, which might look a bit repelling from outside. But in fact, it is a family business with a restaurant and a bar, plus all the hospitality that you could wish for for your holidays. Some rooms are a bit small, but they are tastefully furnished. It is recommended to book early because the hotel is known for its great value-for-money accommodation. The name of the hotel refers to three crosses which are located nearby. A hotel with a very reasonable price relationship |
Kaigasse 7 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 8434530 http://www.hotelwolf.at |
This hotel is located in the Old Town near Mozartplatz. The building was first established in 1429 and it still has got the atmosphere of past times. Because the building is historic, some of the rooms are a bit small. However, all rooms on the upper floors are accessible by elevator. This hotel offers accommodation at very good value for money. It is recommended to book in advance, as the hotel has only 15 rooms. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Youth hostel near the main train station |
Paracelsusstr. 9 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 87 9649 http://www.yoho.at |
This youth hostel is a ten-minute walk from the main train station. There are rooms with four and six beds as well as some double rooms. For a shower you need a token, which allows you about six minutes of hot water. There are also lockers for backpacks and they have a washing machine guests can use. Note that reservations for rooms cannot be made more than 24 hours in advance. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Located close to the motorway exit Salzburg-Mitte in the district of Liefering, this country-style guest house offers comfort and hospitality in a leafy area away from the well-beaten tourist track. The hotel is now rated 3 stars and its bright rooms with rustic decor provide a pleasant stay. Restaurant Kohlpeter is popular with both locals and hotel guests. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Reasonable guesthouse near the station |
Elisabethstrasse 25 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 875236 http://www.pension-adlerhof.com |
Pension Adlerhof is a reasonably priced guesthouse near the station. Its rooms are clean and well presented and the décor of the high-ceilinged rooms makes for a certain old-fashioned theme. If you need somewhere to stay for a considerable amount of time, this is probably not the wisest option; but for a few nights' accommodation it is more than adequate and reasonable value. If you are looking for rooms that are really cheap, ask for one without en suite facilities. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Something different |
Franz Hinterholzer Kai 2a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 664 3415728 http://www.pensionkuenstlerhau... |
The Künstlerhaus (artists' house) is one of the most attractive buildings in Salzburg and is a sight in its own right. Situated on the banks of River Salzach, its exhibition halls in the basement serve as a venue for a variety of exhibitions. The building also contains six spacious guest rooms, all of which are atmospheric and well furnished - although not all have en-suite facilities. Not a typical hotel by any stretch of the imagination, the Künstlerhaus is something of a well-kept secret when it comes to finding good, cheap accommodation in the city centre. Early booking is recommended. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Well-priced accommodation near the railway-station |
Lastenstr. 6a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 874351 |
If you don't take youth hostels into account, this guesthouse (situated near the main train station) is one of the cheapest options in Salzburg. The surrounding area is not the most glamorous there is but the rooms in this hotel are clean and some have en suite facilities. The house is a good few years old and is a suitable option for travellers on a tight budget who aren't all that fussy about creature comforts. To get to the hotel, don't take the main exit in the station but instead leave by the opposite side. Once over the crossing, you'll get to Lastenstraße, from where you can't miss Hotel Sandwirt. Family-run, situated away from the town-centre |
Aiglhofstraße 15 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 845023 http://www.pensionwallner.at/ |
This family-run guesthouse is located in the Maxglan district, which is slightly west of the city centre. You can reach the Old Town by bus in about 10 minutes. The rooms are spread out between two buildings and most rooms have their own shower/toilet, but some low priced rooms share these facilities with the rest of the floor. Rooms in the back building are a little more spacious and are furnished in lightwood. This guesthouse is a good option near the Old Town and it is worth noting that prices here do not fluctuate to much during the year, even when the festival is on. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Student flats to rent |
Priesterhausgasse 6 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 874426; +43 1 4017655 http://www.academia-hotels.co.at |
Like so many other student residences, Schwarzes Rössl rents its rooms to tourists in the summer months (July until September). The Priesterhausgasse (a road), in which the halls of residence can be found, is right next to the Dreifaltigkeitskirche (Church of the Holy Trinity) and Markart Square. Despite the rock bottom prices, the standard of the rooms is pretty good, although only a few have en suite bathrooms. The best way to go about securing a room is to book well in advance. A better price and a more central location would be hard to find in Salzburg. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A grand view |
Gaisberg 16 Salzburg 5026 Austria +43 662 641067 http://www.zistelalm.at |
This is one of the hotels that sit on the Gaisberg mount. Not surprisingly this is outside the city centre but here guests can lap up the calm and the fresh mountain air. As far as the rooms and the service are concerned, this hotel scores high points and adheres to all things traditional in Austrian hospitality. The restaurant is well known for good traditional cuisine and does not linger behind the standard of the hotel itself. Walking, cycling and long drives are what this area is known for. The Gaisberg Panorama Walk leaves from just outside the hotel. Review © 2007, Wcities |
