Bavarians in Salzburg |
Kaiserschützenstraße 1 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 469700 http://www.bayrischerhof.com/ |
If it comes to finding a high class hotel near the main train station of Salzburg, the "Bayrische Hof" is definitely the one. Just a two minutes walk separates the visitor from the main transport centre of the city from where he can catch almost every train or bus possible. Nevertheless the hotel is not too far away from the city centre itself, which can be reached by walking along the picturesque Salzach for about 15 minutes. The rooms are well equipped and look very friendly and welcoming, which also applies to the building itself, that is painted in a friendly and pleasant yellow. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Staying centrally |
Elisabethstraße 45a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 454265-0 http://www.brunauerzentrum.at |
Hotel Brunauer Zentrum is situated in Elisabethstraße, a small road that runs parallel to Salzburg's main train station, where most public transport lines meet. Although the building might not be very appealing, the hotel has a lovely garden; the management are well informed about the city and its tourism and the rooms are often booked for meetings and seminars. This doesn't mean it isn't suitable for leisure guests though; the rooms are light and spacious and practically arranged, dominated by light colours and elements of warm red. This hotel has a special Health Corner with a sauna, solarium and fitness room. Furthermore guests can try their hand at the typical Austrian Kegeln, a sport similar to bowling. Not far from the main strain station you'll find an extremely beautiful building, the Renaissance Hotel Salzburg Congress Centre. This hotel boasts plenty of conference and seminar rooms and for this reason counts a great deal of businesspeople among its guests. Not far from the city centre, the Rennaissance Salzburg maintains stylish, practically designed rooms and has developed a comprehensive service programme to cater for business visitors. Renovated and stylish |
Haunspergstraße 30 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 873457 http://www.haunspergerhof.at |
Hotel Haunsperger Hof luxurious premises lie within easy reach of the main train station and other transport connections. The rooms are spacious, with a welcoming, light colour scheme, designed with emphasis on clean, minimalist lines, and the furniture is lightwood. This is a good choice for those who are not enamoured by traditional rustic and would prefer something a little more contemporary. Please note that this hotel is closed from middle of January until beginning of April. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Close to the station |
Elisabethstraße 19 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 872193 http://www.hotel-hohenstauffen... |
The well-known hotel Hohenstauffen lies not too far from the station. The house literally smiles out over an area that is otherwise not so very jolly. This hotel is an oasis of comfort. The lobby alone looks so inviting that passers by often pop in and have a look around. Its rooms are just as cheery, well equipped and nicely decorated; all have en suite facilities, and four-poster beds are available upon request. Last but not least there are great connections to public transport. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Salzburg's tallest hotel |
Rainerstrase 31 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 889930 http://www.austria-trend.at/eus |
Hotel Europa is hard to miss; located at the square in front of the main railway station, it is the tallest building in the area. All rooms are well-equipped and have air-conditioning. The rooms offer a first-class view of Salzburg (the higher you are, the better!) and are characterised by practical, modern design. The ground floor entrance is modern and stylish, featuring a great deal of wood and glass, and is home to Bar Fabiani. Cafe Europa is on the 15th floor. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Famous beer, famous hotel |
Rainerstraße 12-14 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 88992 http://www.imlauer.com |
Hotel Stieglbräu, whose name derives from one of Salzburg's most famed breweries, is housed in a modern building half way between Mirabell Square and the station. Its air-conditioned rooms and suites are modern and very spacious. Thanks to its size, the hotel is ideal for groups of tourists and lends itself well to seminars, conferences, weddings, family and office parties and business trips. The hotel is supported by a lovely restaurant which trades under the same name and serves great Austrian cuisine. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Art Nouveau architecture in Salzburg |
Lasserstraße 47 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 873388 http://www.lasserhof.com |
From an architectural viewpoint Hotel Lasserhof is certainly one of the most interesting hotels Salzburg has to offer. The building dates from the era of Art Nouveau and was restored bit by bit over the last few years. Now it once again stands proud in all its beauty. The impression created by the exterior is also mirrored inside - a hotel with exquisite rooms and service! It is close to the city centre, yet not too noisy, tucked away in a fairly quiet side street. The Lasserhof combines the past with modern commodities. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Luxury near the station |
Bayerhammerstraße 14a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 8814380 http://www.mercure.at |
Salzburg's Mercure Hotel enjoys a worldwide reputation for quality and outstanding service. It was, in fact, only built a few years back and so is able to offer modern accommodation. Its rooms are spacious, comfortable and practical in their design, all with en suite bathrooms. For business travellers, there are a total of 5 meeting rooms of various sizes that can be rented. Furthermore, the hotel's bar and restaurant are the perfect stop after a strenuous business head-to head! Also a good choice for groups! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Reasonable guesthouse near the station |
Elisabethstrasse 25 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 875236 http://www.pension-adlerhof.com |
Pension Adlerhof is a reasonably priced guesthouse near the station. Its rooms are clean and well presented and the décor of the high-ceilinged rooms makes for a certain old-fashioned theme. If you need somewhere to stay for a considerable amount of time, this is probably not the wisest option; but for a few nights' accommodation it is more than adequate and reasonable value. If you are looking for rooms that are really cheap, ask for one without en suite facilities. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Well-priced accommodation near the railway-station |
Lastenstr. 6a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 874351 |
If you don't take youth hostels into account, this guesthouse (situated near the main train station) is one of the cheapest options in Salzburg. The surrounding area is not the most glamorous there is but the rooms in this hotel are clean and some have en suite facilities. The house is a good few years old and is a suitable option for travellers on a tight budget who aren't all that fussy about creature comforts. To get to the hotel, don't take the main exit in the station but instead leave by the opposite side. Once over the crossing, you'll get to Lastenstraße, from where you can't miss Hotel Sandwirt. Respected hotel and restaurant |
Vogelweiderstraße 93 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 871223 http://www.vogelweiderhof.at/ |
The Vogelweiderhof is situated on the street of the same name, which is one of the main arterial roads in Salzburg. Although it can sometimes be a bit noisy, at night this street does seem to sleep. The rooms are fantastic and the décor features warm colours. All the rooms have en suite facilities and yet the upper price limit is not so high, which is one of the main attractions of the hotel. People who love their food can really find good meals in the hotel's own restaurant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Traditional through and through |
St. Julien Straße 21-23 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 889030 http://www.zumhirschen.at |
Like many other hotels in Salzburg, Hotel Zum Hirschen reveres all things traditional. The rooms all feature classic Austrian furniture and traditional designs; the main theme is one of luxury, and all the rooms feature all mod cons. A hearty breakfast and the use of the roof terrace sauna facilities (Finnish sauna, herb sauna and steam bath) come included in the price of a room. This terrace has a fabulous view over Festung Hohensalzburg. Review © 2007, Wcities |
