Restaurant Kendl is well known in Salzburg thanks to its exquisite Austrian cuisine. That said, the hotel in the same building is certainly not in the shadow because of it. All rooms are tastefully decorated and well equipped to three star standards. The service is professional and friendly with the staff always willing to lend a hand. The 500 years old building is located on the outskirts of Salzburg. This provides a great view of the countryside. Coach groups seem to be particularly fond of this place. An unusual hotel on Gais Mountain |

The Gersberg Alm (Gersberg alp) has been a popular destination since Mozart's time. The hotel is now housed in a building dating from 1832 and is far removed from the normal tourist haunts. Set on the western side of Gais Mountain, the hotel is right in the middle of the landscape and boasts a stunning view over Salzburg. The rooms are all en suite and some have their own balconies. Hotel Schöne Aussicht (translated: beautiful view) resides in a 300 year-old farmhouse and lives up to its name. This three-star hotel, situated on the Heuberg, is a great vantage point and owns a fabulous restaurant with an open-air terrace and panoramic views. The modern, well-fitted rooms all have en suite bathrooms and the view applies to most of the rooms too. Unfortunately, this is rather off the beaten track and buses no longer run this route so it is only a wise choice if you have a car. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hotel Turnerwirt is all about elegance. The rooms are dispersed between several buildings, the main house, the villa, the Atrium Turnerwirt with its refurbished rooms and the lodge. Some of the rooms have more than two beds, which makes this an attractive choice for families. There's a very good restaurant and with its comfortable and well-fitted rooms, it is perfect for groups. The Vogelweiderhof is situated on the street of the same name, which is one of the main arterial roads in Salzburg. Although it can sometimes be a bit noisy, at night this street does seem to sleep. The rooms are fantastic and the décor features warm colours. All the rooms have en suite facilities and yet the upper price limit is not so high, which is one of the main attractions of the hotel.
