Bavarians in Salzburg |
Kaiserschützenstraße 1 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 469700 http://www.bayrischerhof.com/ |
If it comes to finding a high class hotel near the main train station of Salzburg, the "Bayrische Hof" is definitely the one. Just a two minutes walk separates the visitor from the main transport centre of the city from where he can catch almost every train or bus possible. Nevertheless the hotel is not too far away from the city centre itself, which can be reached by walking along the picturesque Salzach for about 15 minutes. The rooms are well equipped and look very friendly and welcoming, which also applies to the building itself, that is painted in a friendly and pleasant yellow. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Staying centrally |
Elisabethstraße 45a Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 454265-0 http://www.brunauerzentrum.at |
Hotel Brunauer Zentrum is situated in Elisabethstraße, a small road that runs parallel to Salzburg's main train station, where most public transport lines meet. Although the building might not be very appealing, the hotel has a lovely garden; the management are well informed about the city and its tourism and the rooms are often booked for meetings and seminars. This doesn't mean it isn't suitable for leisure guests though; the rooms are light and spacious and practically arranged, dominated by light colours and elements of warm red. This hotel has a special Health Corner with a sauna, solarium and fitness room. Furthermore guests can try their hand at the typical Austrian Kegeln, a sport similar to bowling. The first choice for exhibition visitors |
Am Messezentrum 2 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 4355460 http://www.tiscover.at/cd-hotel |
Because of its proximity to Salzburg's Reed Exhibition Centre, this hotel is especially popular with exhibition-goers. The CD Hotel is, first and foremost, a business hotel and maintains modern rooms, all with en suite facilities. It is also a good spot for tourists, as the Old Town is only 20 minutes away by bus. It is worth noting that the room prices here are static the whole year round (even during festival time); in addition one child under the age of 18 is able to sleep in the parents' room free of charge. The restaurant is particularly popular with business travellers. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Not far from the city centre, the Rennaissance Salzburg maintains stylish, practically designed rooms and has developed a comprehensive service programme to cater for business visitors. Close to exhibition centre and motorway |
Lieferinger Hauptstraße 120 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 431646 http://www.hartlwirt.at/ |
Hotel Hartlwirt consists of a small three-star hotel and a highly acclaimed restaurant. The location on the Lieferinger Hauptstraße is ideal for anyone visiting the Exhibition centre (about 700m away) and those travelling by car. All of the rooms in this family-run hotel come with a fitted bathroom with shower and toilet, and the décor is rustic and cosy. Although this is in the centre of town, there is a real village-like feeling in the hotel and the district of Liefering. You'll find great Austrian fare served in the adjoining restaurant. Renovated and stylish |
Haunspergstraße 30 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 873457 http://www.haunspergerhof.at |
Hotel Haunsperger Hof luxurious premises lie within easy reach of the main train station and other transport connections. The rooms are spacious, with a welcoming, light colour scheme, designed with emphasis on clean, minimalist lines, and the furniture is lightwood. This is a good choice for those who are not enamoured by traditional rustic and would prefer something a little more contemporary. Please note that this hotel is closed from middle of January until beginning of April. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Close to the station |
Elisabethstraße 19 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 872193 http://www.hotel-hohenstauffen... |
The well-known hotel Hohenstauffen lies not too far from the station. The house literally smiles out over an area that is otherwise not so very jolly. This hotel is an oasis of comfort. The lobby alone looks so inviting that passers by often pop in and have a look around. Its rooms are just as cheery, well equipped and nicely decorated; all have en suite facilities, and four-poster beds are available upon request. Last but not least there are great connections to public transport. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Four-star and near the exhibition centre |
Münchner Bundesstraße 69 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 434535 http://www.hotel-brandstaetter... |
Hotel Brandstätter is particularly suited to those arriving by car, or people visiting Salzburg's exhibition centre, as it lies right next to the motorway stop Salzburg-Mitte. That said, it is in quite a calm spot and the rooms are decorated in a country house style; some have their own balconies. The service is particularly friendly and competent by all accounts. The very well-reputed restaurant in an inviting 'Stube' will satisfy the most fussy of gourmet wannabes. Review © 2007, Wcities |

On northern edge of Salzburg with a great restaurant |
Itzlinger Hauptstraße 91 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 451728 http://www.plainbruecke.at |
Hotel Plainbrücke lies on Salzburg's northern city limits, where the fields of the neighbouring region of Bergheim meet the city. It is part of the citizens of Salzburg's vocabulary mainly due to its excellent restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and decorated in a rustic style; all have en suite facilities. One highlight is their special Romantic Room with its four-poster bed. By public transport, it really isn't that far into the city centre from here. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A small, relaxing hotel near the airport |
Innsbrucker Bundesstraße 49 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 827648 http://www.hoteljunior.at |
This hotel is suitable for those flying into Salzburg, set very close to the airport. Its spacious rooms all have en suite facilities; some have their own balconies. You'll find this area quite green and the view of the mountains is lovely and hardly ever obscured by cloud. Don't miss out on sampling the delights of the hotel restaurant, which serves typical Salzburg specialities. The beer garden is a great place to while away the afternoon on sunny days. Located close to the motorway exit Salzburg-Mitte in the district of Liefering, this country-style guest house offers comfort and hospitality in a leafy area away from the well-beaten tourist track. The hotel is now rated 3 stars and its bright rooms with rustic decor provide a pleasant stay. Restaurant Kohlpeter is popular with both locals and hotel guests. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great transport links |
Ignaz Harrer Straße 46 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 432119 http://www.lehenerhof.at/ |
This hotel, on Ignaz-Harrer-Straße in the district of Lehen, is particularly convenient when it comes to catching public transport. The street can sometimes be rather noisy but in some rooms there is more peace and quiet to be had. The Lehenerhof's rooms are comfortable, with bare wooden features and en suite showers. Special 'bio-beds' are available upon request, designed to aid relaxation and sleep; the breakfast room is a non-smoking zone. Groups or families of over 4 can book apartments with kitchenettes. A great choice for those visiting the Salzburg Exhibition Centre, which is not far away. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Nice hotel in peaceful surrounding |
Siezenheimer Straße 62 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria http://www.hotel-lilienhof.at |
19 well equipped rooms, filled up with all the extras a tourist can expect from a hotel of this price class. That is what the "Hotel Lilienhof" has to offer the potential guests. The hotel is situated close to the freeway access ramp "Kleßheim", but does not suffer from any traffic noise. However all the lovely sights of the Salzburg country side can be reached quickly and without any problem. The city centre can be reached by car in less than 10 minutes, while the public busses will take about double the time, which is not too long. Furthermore the exhibition centre and the airport are not too far away. Peaceful top location! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Reasonable guesthouse near the station |
Elisabethstrasse 25 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 875236 http://www.pension-adlerhof.com |
Pension Adlerhof is a reasonably priced guesthouse near the station. Its rooms are clean and well presented and the décor of the high-ceilinged rooms makes for a certain old-fashioned theme. If you need somewhere to stay for a considerable amount of time, this is probably not the wisest option; but for a few nights' accommodation it is more than adequate and reasonable value. If you are looking for rooms that are really cheap, ask for one without en suite facilities. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Simple hotel in a quiet area |
Schmiedingerstraße 179 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 430423 |
Pension Rosi, a small guesthouse, specialises in simple rooms for a good price. They mainly rent to people who want to visit an exhibition or just potter around in town for a couple of days. The small house is situated near the Salzachsee and is easy to reach over the A1 freeway. The rooms are rather sparse, but nicely decorated and all have en suite facilities. Furthermore it is connected sufficiently with downtown Salzburg through a regular bus service. Exhibition visitors might consider this alternative, because the newly built exhibition centre is just around the corner. A simple and inexpensive hotel and certainly an option worth looking into! Respected hotel and restaurant |
Vogelweiderstraße 93 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 871223 http://www.vogelweiderhof.at/ |
The Vogelweiderhof is situated on the street of the same name, which is one of the main arterial roads in Salzburg. Although it can sometimes be a bit noisy, at night this street does seem to sleep. The rooms are fantastic and the décor features warm colours. All the rooms have en suite facilities and yet the upper price limit is not so high, which is one of the main attractions of the hotel. People who love their food can really find good meals in the hotel's own restaurant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Traditional through and through |
St. Julien Straße 21-23 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 889030 http://www.zumhirschen.at |
Like many other hotels in Salzburg, Hotel Zum Hirschen reveres all things traditional. The rooms all feature classic Austrian furniture and traditional designs; the main theme is one of luxury, and all the rooms feature all mod cons. A hearty breakfast and the use of the roof terrace sauna facilities (Finnish sauna, herb sauna and steam bath) come included in the price of a room. This terrace has a fabulous view over Festung Hohensalzburg. Review © 2007, Wcities |
