Student flats to rent for the holidays |
Glockengasse 4b Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 1 512 7493 http://www.allyouneedhotels.at... |
The AllYouNeed Hotel serves as student halls of residence during term time and, from July until the end of the summer, it is a hotel for tourists. It works out well that in the period when most tourists visit Salzburg, the students are away at home or travelling, leaving their halls free for visitors. The location is ideal, at the upper end of Linzergasse in a small quiet sidestreet. The building itself has only been around a few years and with en suite facilities and a telephone in all rooms, it offers a comfortable place to stay at very reasonable prices. Note: only open between July and September. Review © 2007, Wcities |

High class and central |
Rudolfskai 28 / Judengasse 15 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 8485710 http://www.austria-trend.at/ass |
This luxury hotel of the best sort sets itself out from the rest by the fact that it is located right in the Old Town. Situated on the Rudolskai by River Salzach, it is about as close as you can get to all the highlights of Mozart's City. There's a great view over the Kapuzinerberg, River Salzach and the Giselakai on the one side, and the ambience of the Waag Square and the Judengasse on the other side. Class paired with the flair of Salzburg's Old Town is a fusion close to perfection. The rooms are luxurious with plenty of wooden floorboards and period furniture. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hotel Kasererbräu is situated in a 650 year-old listed building in the Old Town. Although you'll find it in the middle of the pedestrian zone, access by car is still possible. The convivial hotel is stylish and inviting; the rooms are heavily accented by antique furniture although retain a modern feel. There are some games rooms, rather reminiscent of those of a country house or even a castle. This hotel would be well suited to those interested in history and culture. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wolf Dietrich Straße 7 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 871275 http://www.salzburg-hotel.at/ |
This hotel inherited its name from one of Salzburg's best-known archbishops. Lovingly decorated and pleasantly furnished, this is a good, mid-priced choice in the centre of town. The hotel restaurant has received many accolades and serves high-quality Austrian fare. Not only that, but the hotel also won a "Best for Ladies" award in acknowledgement of its services to female travellers. In 2005 a new and modern spa area was opened. A wealth of information about the city is available from the knowledgeable, helpful staff. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Schallmoser Hauptstraße 13 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 881681 http://www.cordial.at |
Something in the region of 3,500 cultural events take place in Salzburg every year. The idea of opening a hotel to cater to those tourists who visit Salzburg for cultural events seemed a logical one. The owners of the Cordial Theatre Hotel were the first to dream up and execute this idea. The hotel is not too far from the city centre and the staple venues for cultural events. The friendly staff provide a wealth of information on what is on. All rooms are arranged as suites, with en suite facilities and a kitchenette. Unfortunately, the prices rise by about half during the festival period. There are conference facilities for business meetings. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This is the largest of Salzburg's five-star options, and is situated between Mirabellplatz and the main station in the centre of town. The interior decor exudes panache and elegance, while the staff ensure a smooth reception and seem to anticipate the guests' every wish. The presidential suite is huge (120m2), although the other rooms are also very generous. The in-house restaurant, the Rainerstube, is a cosy establishment specializing in the finest Austrian cuisine. Jazz lovers shouldn't miss the Jazz Brunch, which takes place most Sundays. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Very convenient if you travel by car |
Vogelweiderstraße 6 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 87 3853 http://www.hotel-ganslhof.at |
If you arrive in Salzburg by car from the north you can't really miss the Ganslhof. It is situated in the Vogelweiderstraße, which runs along behind the main train station of Salzburg, great for those travelling by car and train. This street, being one of Salzburg's main outlet roads, can be rather noisy at times. At night the traffic eases considerably, so guests can sleep in peace. The city centre can be reached comfortably on foot in about 20 minutes and a public bus will scoot you off to town in about half the time. The value for money is good and dedicated staff make sure that your stay is a pleasant one. All in all, a nice, comfy hotel in a good, semi-central position! Review © 2007, Wcities |

The hotel, situated in the city centre on the Herbert von Karajan Square, is known worldwide for its exquisite service and class. Haus Wartenberg is in an enviable position. It is able to offer inexpensive rooms close to the city centre, which guarantees it a constant stream of guests. In rather a quiet and well-to-do neighbourhood, this unpretentious, friendly establishment offers its guests a few welcome extras, such as on-site conferencing facilities. Some rooms only have use of the bathroom facilities in the corridors, but these options are considerably better value than the en suite rooms. Its garden is a welcome place to relax in the hustle and bustle of city life, and has plenty of space to accommodate children playing and there's an in-house restaurant. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hotel Auersperg, in Auerspergstraße, is merely a few hundred metres away from the Mirabellplatz, and therefore the city centre. 19 of its 50 rooms in the neighbouring building have been completely redesigned, yet the whole establishment possesses a flair only found in old family-run hotels. The city's best and most expensive hotel |
Schwarzstraße 5-7 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 88977 http://www.sacher.com/ |
The city's most luxurious and expensive hotel lies right in the centre of Salzburg next to River Salzach. It was built in the 1960s and was refurbished some years ago, which considerably added to its status. Those who have money at their disposal love to stay here, especially when the festival is on. The rooms have a modem connection, anything else you may require and more. The Sacher's atmosphere is elegant and brings alive the flair that prevailed in the past. Apart from the restaurants affiliated to the hotel, there is also Cafe Sacher, known for its world-famous Sachertorten (Sacher gateau). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Student flats to rent |
Priesterhausgasse 6 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 874426; +43 1 4017655 http://www.academia-hotels.co.at |
Like so many other student residences, Schwarzes Rössl rents its rooms to tourists in the summer months (July until September). The Priesterhausgasse (a road), in which the halls of residence can be found, is right next to the Dreifaltigkeitskirche (Church of the Holy Trinity) and Markart Square. Despite the rock bottom prices, the standard of the rooms is pretty good, although only a few have en suite bathrooms. The best way to go about securing a room is to book well in advance. A better price and a more central location would be hard to find in Salzburg. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Near the Neutor Tunnel |
Neutorstraße 8 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 844154 http://neutor.s-hotels.com/ |
This hotel is named after the Neutor Tunnel which runs under the Mönchsberg. This ancient tunnel, the so-called Sigmundstor (Neutor), connects the two parts of the city. The city centre is less than 5 minutes away on foot and guests can leave their car in the huge garage and then set out on walking expeditions. The service and rooms are excellent, as one might expect from a hotel of this category. The hotel restaurant is only for the use of groups, but the café is open to all. A hotel in a great location with plenty of style! Review © 2007, Wcities |

One of the most luxurious hotels in Salzburg |
Auerspergstraße 4 Salzburg 5020 Austria +43 662 889990 http://www.sheraton.com/salzburg |
In Austria, as everywhere in the world, the name Sheraton is synonymous with luxury and class. The hotel, in one of Schwarzstraße's side streets, is about a ten-minute walk from Salzburg's Old Town and fulfils just about every wish guests looking for exquisite service and luxury could fathom. The interior simply throbs with style. The lobby sports amazingly comfortable, beautiful chairs and the reception rather resembles one you might find on a luxury steamboat. Dinner in the small restaurant is in harmony with the Sheraton's reputation of excellence. Right behind the hotel, a vast park stretches out to the famous Mirabell Palace. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great little place |
Rochusgasse 15 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 820100 http://www.wastlwirt.com |
Wastlwirt is just as charming as the name sounds. This small but well-equipped establishment is situated very near Stiegl brewery, although its fabulous restaurant and inexpensive rooms make it popular with a more varied clientele. Known for its friendly, family-like atmosphere and attentive service, Wastlwirt is a good, relatively undiscovered little place and only a 20-minute walk from the city centre. A tip for insiders! Plenty of history and superb food |
Goldgasse 10 Salzburg A - 5020 Austria +43 662 845622 http://www.ente.at |
Hotel zur goldenen Ente (literally, Hotel of the Golden Duck) is certainly a bit of an insider's tip among the hotels in Salzburg. Even Goldgasse, the road in which the hotel lies, is worth a visit and it is fascinating to stay in a 500 year-old building. For a hotel of its class, it is well furnished and maintained as it has been refurbished recently. The rooms all have en suite facilities and the hotel has its own restaurant, Gasthaus zur goldenen Ente, which comes highly recommended. Review © 2007, Wcities |
