Markets in Salzburg have a long tradition. The oldest was mentioned before 1500 in the City Chronicle. There existed also a so-called Christmas market selling dolls, sweets, and old and second hand goods. Nowadays this pre-Christmas market is situated on the Cathedral Square. There are wax objects, wooden toys, glassware, pewter dishes, ceramics etc. Don´t forget to put on warm clothes and enjoy tea, punch or mulled wine if you don't want to buy anything.

The most expensive contract to date was no doubt the task of providing the flowers for the Vienna Opera Ball in 2000. You can visit the nursery in Nonntal, where the greenhouses are used as additional sales space and their is a hunge Palm house. You buy everything from individual flowers to wedding bouquets and the shop is open throughout the year, even at christmas.

+43 662 80722179 Over the past decade Austria has emerged as an up-and-coming producer of dry white and dessert wines. Even its red wines are starting to make a name for themselves. A visit to the wine market, which is held in Salzburg every April and May, is therefore highly recommended for anybody remotely interested in wine. Dozens of wine-growers from Austria's different wine-growing regions have stalls at the market, making the choice and value-for-money quite exceptional. Many regional names are unfamiliar outside Austria but are still well worth trying. Drivers should not despair: they can fill up the car and enjoy the wine at home.
