Irish Pub on the River Walk |
Hilton Palacio del Rio 715 E River Walk St San Antonio, TX 78205 United States +1 210 222 1400 |
When you think of San Antonio, you don't necessarily think of an Irish pub, now do you? Well, think again. Durty Nelly's, located on the River Walk on the river level of the Hilton hotel, is a rollicking good time. Pull up a chair, order a beer (or two, or ten) and sing along with the pianist. A versatile guy, the pianist takes requests and can play just about anything. Probably the most fun thing to do is munch on the peanuts and toss the shells on the floor. Yes, it is allowed! Huge country & western bar and dance hall |
3030 NE Loop 410 (at the IH-35 junction) San Antonio, TX 78218 United States +1 210 646 9378 |
For the ultimate country and western experience, be sure to visit the nightclub that boasts the largest dance floor in Texas. Only 12 minutes from the River Walk, Far West features nightly rodeos and mechanical bull riding and often hosts live performances by national recording artists. In order to look like a real Texan, be sure to wear your jeans and boots and to order an ice-cold longneck beer. Once you take a two-steppin' spin across the sawdust-covered dance floor, you're sure to feel like you grew up here. Customers must be 21 or older to enter. Cover charges vary; call for information and performance schedules. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sing-along piano bar |
111 Crockett St W Ste 201 San Antonio, TX 78205 United States +1 210 212 4770 http://www.howlatthemoon.com |
Combine two full-service bars with two talented dueling pianists and you have a recipe for wild, raucous fun. Howl at the Moon is a high-energy sing-along bar that gets louder and more fun as the night wears on. There is definitely a proportional relationship between alcohol and singing: the more alcohol you consume, the more you sing, and usually louder and further off-key, too. Oddly, that is what makes this place a great choice when you are out with a crowd. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A lounge lizard's favorite hideaway |
8507 McCullough San Antonio, TX 78216 United States +1 210 344 4747 |
Virtually hidden in an unassuming strip center behind one of the city's largest shopping malls, this bar is a favorite of young and old alike. Dripping in red velvet, naugahyde-covered chairs and subdued lighting, the small space is filled to capacity by locals who come to see the bar's owner perform on stage. The owner is probably one of the best cover singers around, possessing the uncanny ability to sound exactly like Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson or anyone else, for that matter. This is the epitome of a lounge act, and the Mylar "rain" curtain behind the stage is icing on the cake. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beautiful bar with an emphasis on the bubbly |
207 N Presa St (between Commerce & Market Sts) San Antonio, TX 78205 United States +1 210 224 2900 / +1 210 224 1313 http://www.zincwine.com |
This bar pours more than 40 varieties of wine available by the glass, including more than five varieties of champagne. If none of those suit you, partake of any one of the numerous brandies or liqueurs, or enjoy a premium mixed drink from the fully stocked bar. Beautiful but small, Zinc has almost an elitist, yet friendly, feel; it is as if you have discovered the clique and have been welcomed. The crowds is small, even though it is just one block off the beaten path from River Walk. Review © 2007, Wcities |
