This is a wonderful wilderness reserve in which to explore the back country of San Diego County. Hike your way through oak woodlands, sage scrub, mixed chaparral and riparian habitat. Wildlife abounds with plenty of coyotes, deer, foxes, hawks and vultures in their undisturbed environs to see. This inland area reaches extreme temperatures in summer, and no water is available so be sure to pack liquids. Guided nature walks are offered on weekends at 9am; the walks are free of charge.
