Coronado, also sometimes called the crown city or the tent city, is a wealthy city separated from downtown San Diego by San Diego Bay Bridge or a short ferry ride. A number of upscale shops, eateries and hotels, most famously the Hotel del Coronado, are large draws to the region, but biking, walking and camping on the beach is possible and enjoyable in the town as well. During parts of the year, migrating whales may be visible from the beach, and off-leash dog beaches will further appeal to animal lovers. Review © 2009, Wcities
