While touring the mountainous eastern regions of San Diego County, be sure to stop off at this local icon of flavor and bring home an armful of fresh, delicious bread. The "staff of life" here is just moments out of the oven and locals travel the 40 miles from downtown just to get it while it's hot. Varieties range from the tame to the torrid (try the spicy jalapeno).
