Since 1916, brave-hearted souls have been jumping into the fun of this one-mile race billed as America's largest rough-water swimming competition. By September (traditionally held the first Sunday following the Labor Day Weekend), the waters off the coast are beginning to cool down and the water is usually about 64 degrees when this event takes place.
