This three mile trail allows hikers to forge moderately difficult terrain. The trail, not recommended for beginners, offers a steep climb with a gain of 400 feet in elevation. Along the trail, hikers may view oaks, manzanita, chaparrel, pine and wildflowers. This trail follows a stream for a portion and sightings of deer are normal. Within the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park boundaries, several hiking trails are available from beginning to expert.
