A hiking challenge

This three mile trail allows hikers to forge moderately difficult terrain. The trail, not recommended for beginners, offers a steep climb with a gain of 400 feet in elevation. Along the trail, hikers may view oaks, manzanita, chaparrel, pine and wildflowers. This trail follows a stream for a portion and sightings of deer are normal. Within the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park boundaries, several hiking trails are available from beginning to expert. This particular trail is suited for experienced hikers seeking a challenging route with views of vegetation and wildlife along the way.
