San Diego |
Though relatively close to downtown San Diego, La Playa is a peaceful residential area. The second oldest subdivision after Old Town, the neighborhood is trying to preserve its elegant character and meticulously maintained historic homes in the face of the city's encroaching development. La Playa has more trees along its streets and paths than you will find in much of the rest of San Diego, and Armada Terrace offers views of the city and the bay. Taking in the waterfront view and homes on the beachside walking paths or checking out the neighborhood boating facilities and yacht club are good ways to escape the hubbub of the city.
