San Diego |
The Uptown district of San Diego has just undergone a serious construction project leaving this district with a new look on urbanization. With a residential focus in mind, the area is largely residential with a large commercial center simply put off to the side. A community center is a major location for getting information and community gatherings. What is special about the Uptown district is not the way that it was planned, but rather the fact that it is very pedestrian-oriented. With all major parking underground, and pedestrian sidewalks decorated with landscaping designs, it makes the place appear futuristically eco-friendly. Most of the architecture is based on a European Mediterranean style making this district perfect for the warm weather it receives during the summer months. Review © 2009, Wcities |
