The pastries and truffles are decidedly French as is the exuberantly baroque decor. Gilded display cases show off tarts, creme brulees and croissants in a cornucopia of flavors, both sweet and savory, all made on site. There is a cafe with non-sweet treats on the premises, but most people, always seem to be indulging their collective sweet tooth. Other places may serve a Baba au Rhum, but none that is made with a richer syrup or a lighter cake for the base. No one is rushed here, either. It would be sinful to rush treats so delicious.
