Berkeley's legend now in SF |
630 Irving Street (between Seventh and Eighth avenues) San Francisco, CA 94122 +1 415 564 0877 http://www.blackoakbooks.com |
One of Berkeley's best independent bookstores has finally come to San Francisco. It boasts 2,500 square feet and 10,000 titles of new, used, and antiquarian books. Shelves are designed so even people of average height can reach the top, and aisles are wide enough to accommodate several browsers. Fluorescent strip lights make title reading easy, even for the visually challenged. The variety and selection of books is superb, and the half-price paperback section is a bonanza. Many of the mystery, science fiction, and pocket fiction titles cannot be found elsewhere, either new or used. Review © 2009, Wcities |
