The goal of the San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Celebration Committee is to educate others and celebrate their culture. An annual June celebration called Pride is the gay event of the U.S. and includes numerous performers and celebrity appearances. The Sunday morning parade along Market Street attracts a large and diverse crowd every year.

This winter festival, also known as SF Indie Fest, is dedicated to them all, the talented filmmakers with limited budgets but big dreams. There are films from other cities, too, but it is the San Francisco attitude that prevails with films that push envelopes some people did not even know existed. In addition to screenings, various after parties and happy-hour gatherings can be attended. Films are screened at the Roxie Cinema, Castro Theater and the Victoria.
