This is one of the most locally well-reviewed restaurants to hit the Bay Area. An efficient and personable staff serves memorable meals within the pale yellow dining rooms of this converted Victorian. A wood-burning oven turns out such specialties as Yankee Pot Roast that you can cut with a fork. The food is down-home, but the preparation is chic and the flavor second to none. The desserts are also down-home, but in a decidedly more decadent way. The Banana Layer Cake, which mixes mashed bananas with a rich butter cream filling, is divine.
