This hip Pac Heights pub, formerly an upscale gay bar, has undergone some major design changes to become what it is today. Identifiable from the street only by the profusion of large leafy trees and some sparkly lights around the perimeter, this semi-tropical, safari theme is carried on inside, low lit with dark woods, a fireplace, and plenty of foliage. Locals flock here every day of the week to take advantage of the free food – a yummy buffet of snacks from hummus to brie, this is no peanut and pretzel shack. Weekly drink specials are whipped up by friendly bartenders; real fruit juices are the specialty so be sure to try a strawberry mojito… or anything muddled for that matter as it is sure to be fresh and delicious.
