It's a trend and it's catching on, the combination of Italy's best dairy-based dessert, gelato and France's best tasting flour-based food, the crepe. Even though both are common fare in Europe, crepe and gelato stands are rare in North America, as if the food is not recognized as a great tasting, quasi meal. However, there is hope. California is breaking the mold with the franchise Melt Gelato & Crepe Cafe, now open in the Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre, offering multiple flavors of gelato and spectacular crepe creations to fill you up.
