While it is not the largest or most complete bookstore in San Francisco, this Mission District shop is a fine addition to the city because of the array of selections it offers liberal-minded readers. The store features a collection of provocative literature and diverse topics such as human rights issues, poetry and third world politics. The store accommodates the community's strong Latin influence, offering a large variety of books written in Spanish. Ask about its schedule of weekly readings and in-house events.
