Marking beauty with style, the San Francisco Orchid Society puts forth yet another spectacular display of its most famed event. The Annual Pacific Orchid Exhibition presents over 150,000 orchids from the far reaches of the world, accompanied by 20 of the best wineries from the International San Francisco Chronicle Wine Tasting Competition offering tastings of their award-winning harvests. The exhibition's theme, "Orchids Gone Wild" features creative presentations of countless orchids from the absolutely miniscule to the incredibly gargantuan all in "wild" style. The annual show is judged by San Francisco Orchid Society experts who have all received their certification from the esteemed American Orchid Society with all proceeds benefiting the horticultural program at California State University, San Luis Obispo. With over 50 growers displaying their passion, the society will offer tours of the exhibition and present background knowledge of the horticulture and history involved in these incredible flowers. The exhibition prides itself on being one of the top three orchid exhibitions in the world and with the endless shapes, colors, breeds, and styles it is an event that will surely retain its aesthetic impact for years to come. -Casey Doward
