This authentically French neighborhood oasis provides respite to SoMa professionals in need of breakfasts more pleasurable than a stale danish - and lunches more moving than a microwave burrito. The Butler & the Chef offers an elegant menu of salads, pates, quiches, crepes, croissants and more. The sandwiches (both hot and cold) stand head and shoulders above typical deli fare, all served on freshly baked bread and chock full of specialty meats, luscious veggies and exotic greens. For dessert, enjoy decadent standards like creme brulee, or opt for the simple but stunningly good maple-pecan cookie. Beer and wine are available, in addition to a full list of coffee specialties. See website for menu.

Crepes on Cole

Mighty tasty
100 Carl Street
(at the corner of Cole Street)
San Francisco, CA 94117
United States
+1 415 664 1800
A Cole Valley neighborhood favorite, this place sells delicious crepes by the bundle. The restaurant's popularity is due to low prices, great service and a specialty menu. In a somewhat casual, even funky, environment, it is certainly not a place for a fancy dinner but rather one for a quick treat. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the thin, pancake-like delicacy can be topped with a variety of goodies from fruit and powered sugar, to cheese and onions. Breakfast crepes are served with a side of house potatoes. Note: Cash only.

Crepevine

Creative crepes & sandwiches
624 Irving Street
(between Seventh and Eighth avenues)
San Francisco, CA 94122
United States
+1 415 681 5858
http://www.thecrepevine.com/
info@thecrepevine.com
The appealing combination of fresh ingredients, hefty portions, and inexpensive prices fill this crepery/coffee house for lunch daily and brunch on Sunday. The wood-paneled walls and heavy wood tables create a dark atmosphere inside. For those who prefer more light, several tables are set up outside on the sidewalk. Names like the Bombay, Santa Fe, and Tuscany make it difficult to choose just one item. Both savory and sweet crepes (including ones with pears and chocolate with ice cream) are served, as well as sandwiches and omelettes. Note: Cash only.

Frjtz Gourmet Belgian Fries

Fries for Frie's Sake
590 Valencia Street
(On the Corner of 17th Street)
San Francisco, CA 94110
United States
+1 415 863 8272
http://www.frjtzfries.com/
Ever realized you liked the side of fries that came with your dinner more than your entree? Head to one of Frjtz two locations and you will see that fries constitute a meal all on their own. A large basket of crispy fries that melt in your mouth at the first bite can be accompanied by any number of dips featuring flavors from Thailand to Italy. Now Frjtz has two locations, a tiny cozy spot in Hayes Valley and a larger restaurant in the Mission District. The large Valencia street location has an aura of decadence with its high ceilings and art installations, but this doesn't stop everybody and their mother from going there. You're only eating fries after all, and everyone loves fries.

Melt Gelato & Crepe Café

Quick and Tasty
Westfield San Francisco Shopping Center
865 Market Street
San Francisco, CA 94103
United States
+1 415 512 6776
It's a trend and it's catching on, the combination of Italy's best dairy-based dessert, gelato and France's best tasting flour-based food, the crepe. Even though both are common fare in Europe, crepe and gelato stands are rare in North America, as if the food is not recognized as a great tasting, quasi meal. However, there is hope. California is breaking the mold with the franchise Melt Gelato & Crepe Cafe, now open in the Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre, offering multiple flavors of gelato and spectacular crepe creations to fill you up. Take a chance on sugar and flour, it won't hurt, it will just taste really, really good. You will say goodbye to the Atkins and South Beach diets for good.

Savor

Sweet and savory creperie
3913 24th Street
(between Noe and Sanchez streets)
San Francisco, CA 94112
United States
+1 415 282 0344
The sunny outdoor patio and funky Medditeranean decor are enough to let the visitor enjoy a meal at this restaurant. Couple this with the fact that the food is outstanding, and this becomes one of the best creperies in The City. Enjoy the tantalizing smells that float out from the kitchen. Outdoors, a blue awning covers the patio. Hearty dinner and sweet dessert crepes are the house specialty. One favorite is the Barcelona-fontina cheese, glazed onions, and spinach. In addition, the restaurant serves a variety of flavorful sandwiches and salads and the service is great.
