Folk elegance in New Russia |
5241 Geary Boulevard San Francisco, CA 94118 +1 415 752 8558 |
Situated in the middle of The City's Russian neighborhood, this restaurant is a standout with its 13th-century decor rich in reds and gold. The menu is opulent, too, from Cossack's Steak to Quail Romanoff. The extensive wine list is heavy on offerings from select California vineyards. The imports include Dom Perignon 1990 for $150, and Sovetskoye Shampanskoe, from $8-$40. To complete the atmosphere, you can enjoy live piano music nightly. Even if you do not have the chicken, you will think you are in Kiev. The service is terrific. Review © 2009, Wcities |
