San Francisco's best kept sushi secret |
314 Church Street (at the corner of 15th Street) San Francisco, CA 94114 |
This restaurant, a.k.a. "no name sushi restaurant" is by far The City's best kept sushi secret. This small, unobtrusive restaurant is an unexpected surprise. Unlike the quaint and subdued bakeries and restaurants typical of the neighborhood, this venue is quirky and fun. The sushi is freshly prepared, the service is fast, and prices are low. The clientele comes from near and far and getting a table usually requires a 10-15 minute wait. The mismatched linoleum tiles and the ersatz Japanese knick knacks could have been tacky, but instead give the restaurant a unique charm. The portions are larger than the average city sushi restaurant. No alcohol is served on the premises but visitors are welcome to bring their own Sapporo. Note: Cash only. Review © 2009, Wcities |
