For years, the place was a dark, crowded bar surrounded by a narrow row of tables. The crowd was both gay and straight, but uniformly conventional in dress (T-shirts and jeans) and taste (greasy appetizers and burger specials). Recently, however, the Deluxe underwent a makeover in favor of a sunny, spacious feel with blond wood trim. Thankfully, the clientele hasn't changed much, and burgers still top the menu. Try the Hawaiian or Veggie Burger. Sip the Pear Cider and try to chat over the loud music from the bar. Review © 2009, Wcities |
