Once your eyes grow accustomed to the dimness of this shop, they'll widen at the array of preserved elegance. The specialty here is pre-1960s clothing, with strengths in turn-of-the-century and 1930s duds. Gowns are delicately made, jewelry terribly fine, hats and caps quaint if outdated. The only disappointments come from the lack of costume rental, and from the fact that women used to be much shorter and smaller. The average 1990s woman simply can't fit into that 1910 lace wedding gown. But it sure is pretty to look at. Review © 2009, Wcities |
