This neighborhood occupies a peninsula north of downtown and juts out into Lake Washington. With its priviledged position on the shores of the lake, Laurelhurst tends to have some of the pricier homes in the area. This is also the childhood home of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who now resides a mere ferry-ride across Lake Washington in the even more exclusive neighborhood of Medina.
