Located northeast of Seattle on the shores of Lake Washington, Medina is probably most famous for being the home of the world's richest man, Bill Gates. While Gates is currently the top dog, he is by no means the first, or only, successful businessman to migrate to Medina's shores. The area was first developed and settled by wealthy lumbermen and shipbuilders, including members of the "Weyerhaeuser Timber Clan." All this affluence has turned Medina into a pricey place to live, replete with mansions and the ultra-exclusive Overlake Golf and Country Club. Review © 2009, Wcities |
