Local house of indulgence |
452 North 36th Street Seattle, WA 98103 United States +1 206 675 8647 |
In downtown Fremont, just a block down from Lenin himself, this all-in-one pleasure stop offers a wide array of cigars, rolling tobacco, cigarettes, pipes and magazines. In addition to the basic accoutrements of a tobacco shop, the place sells knives, both utilitarian and display-quality, and blown-glass smoking accessories. One of the best places in town to pick up a Puros Indios No.2 from Honduras or a Nicaraguan Al Capone, it is the happy purveyor of simple, self-indulgent delights. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tales of decades |
3518 Fremont Place North Seattle, WA 98103 United States +1 206 634 2733 |
Whether it is Vegas-style sandals, horn rimmed glasses or feather boas that you are in search of, step in and start hunting amidst the load of "junk". You can also spot something for your home—Chinese lanterns, posters featuring old popular movies or even communist propaganda, couches, hat boxes, silk fans and cocktail glasses are up for takes. What's more, find that ancient wooden wardrobe you always wanted and upholstery too, right here. Off late they have also started offering factory seconds with new leather sofas replacing some old stuff. Basically it covers the period from 30's to 60's and if you providence is on your side, you might just find something from the 19th century. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Chic Fremont clothes shop |
3427 Fremont Place North Seattle, WA 98103 United States +1 206 547 1211 |
Like Bliss, its sister shop across the street, this women's clother is friendly and hip, but the emphasis here is on natural fabrics (think hemp) and larger sizes rather than groovy synthetics and fashionably tiny waists. Crinkly silk, furry cashmere and blousy cotton are everywhere. There's also a nice selection of bags, as well as the requisite jewelry/soap/candle collection. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Including sections for cooking, science, women's studies and children's books, alongside the more expected religious titles, this is an excellent place to browse for unusual finds. Huge selection |
201 North East 45th Street Seattle, WA 98105 United States +1 206 547 2260 http://www.goldenoldies-record... |
The store isn't much to look at outside, and inside it's downright rustic, with bare wood and cardboard, but the enormous selection of used vinyl records, CDs and cassettes is unparalleled in the area. The store specializes in oldies, but it carries everything from hard rock to country to carnival music and other obscure categories. Prices may seem a little high for used merchandise, but the shop's access to more than 10 million titles means it has (or can find), what you want. Call for branch information. The boutique offers a splendid collection from designers in New York, Los Angeles and Europe. The decor is minimal and classy and the clothes are displayed on racks. The collection they offer is elegant and chic. They also have stuff ideal for tall women who find it hard to find their correct size. The store has an end of season sale. The friendly owners, Christine Deavel and John Marshall are former editors of the literary journal Fine Madness, and they obviously love poetry. The store hosts readings by local authors regularly.
