St. Spiridon Cathedral

Onion-topped Russian Orthodox church
1310 Harrison Street
Seattle, WA 98109
+1 206 624 5341
Drivers on Interstate 5, just north of downtown, often wonder to what those blue onion domes belong. The Red Square resemblance isn't deceptive. St. Spiridon, a small white building surmounted by a cluster of gold-tipped domes, is indeed a Russian Orthodox church. It's fairly dark and intimate inside, and the incense provides instant transport to Byzantine lands. An annual fall bazaar offers a chance to eavesdrop on Russian tradition, snack on piroshky and browse books in Cyrillic.
