Theatrical representations for children |
Calle Crédito 11 Seville 41002 Spain +34 95 490 0164 |
Since 1991 the Alameda Theatre has directed its shows to audiences comprised of children and adolescents. The specialization arrived from the need to fill the void in this sector in Seville and Andalusia. In fact, in Spain there are only five theatres of this type. This way, participation of schools in activities for school-aged children is increased. Each year about 60000 spectators visit the Alameda Theatre, as do more than 60 companies and about 200 shows. Classic theatre representations |
Santiponce Santiponce Seville 41970 Spain |
Itálica, in the Sevillian township Santiponce, 8 kilometers from the capital city, is one of the most important sites of ruins in Andalusia. Roman city, founded by Scipio and birthplace of the future emperors Trajano and Adriano, the ruins consist of the base of the amphitheater, thermal baths, a theater, and various buildings with mosaic decoration. All this makes for a special backdrop for the celebration of a Classical Theatre Festival. The festival began right here in Itálica, but now includes various stages throughout the Sevillian province. Representations of Greek and Roman works are held in the outskirts of the Itálica ruins. Review © 2007, Wcities |

From the 70's |
Calle Sierpes 25 Seville 41004 Spain +34 95 422 6878 http://andalunet.com/teatro-im... |
Situated in the centre of Seville, very close to La Campana, this is an old cinema converted into a theatre after the decline of cinema at the end of the 70's. The playhouse maintains the flavour of old theatres, seats, decorations, and above all plays that it stages. The programming is dedicated for a large part of the year to musicals, 'zarzuelas' (traditional Spanish opera), operettas, and concerts by well-known and popular singers. One of the best things about this theatre is its location. Forming part of the heart of the city, from here you can easily get to Sierpes Street, Plaza Nueva, Plaza de San Francisco, the Ayuntamiento, or Iglesia del Salvador. Nearby you can find bars, shops of all types, banks and above all the Plaza del Salvador, a great place to meet and have a beer in the evening. Ticket office hours: 10a-2p & 6p-9p.
