Attractive restaurant overlooking Botanical Gardens |
Clarke House Rd Sheffield, South Yorkshire S10 2LN United Kingdom +44 114 268 7788 |
The original Curator's House in Sheffield's Botanical Gardens has recently been converted into a modern, attractive restaurant and tea room, which retain original features. In addition to the house itself, a large conservatory and terrace overlooking the gardens are now fully accessible to the restaurant's customers. During the day, expect to find tea, coffee and hot and cold snacks but in the evening, the menu is transformed. Try cannelloni of crab with bisque for starters, and fillet of beef with sautéd spinach and chanterelle for the main course. Prices are reasonable; main course options range from about £8 in the evening and a set menu charge covers two courses. There is an additional charge for desserts and coffee. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Top quality Michelin-starred restaurant |
Ridgeway (off B6388) Sheffield, South Yorkshire S12 3XW United Kingdom +44 114 247 5814 http://www.theoldvicarage.co.uk |
The Old Vicarage, a first class restaurant by any standards, currently holds a Michelin Star (the only restaurant with this honor in Sheffield) and two Egon Ronay Stars. The restaurant itself has an elegant, luxurious feel and service is extremely attentive. Expect to find cooking of the highest quality, integrating traditional and modern ingredients and techniques to create unusual and mouthwatering dishes, such as toasted goat's cheese with summer fruit chutney to start. Fine pub in a beautiful location |
Tofts Lane Stannington Sheffield, South Yorkshire S6 5SL United Kingdom +44 114 233 3247 |
It's easy to forget that you're only five minutes from the traffic chaos at Hillsborough when you're enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds the Rivelin Hotel, which faces down an impossibly steep side road onto the A6101 Rivelin Valley Road. Its proximity to the Rivelin Valley Nature Trail makes the small beer garden a popular choice with local families, (accompanied by their children and dogs) on warm afternoons. Inside, it is comfortable and traditional, with slightly old-fashioned fittings, and has a hospitable, local feel. A decent choice of snacks and meals is served every lunchtime and on Friday evenings. Afternoon opening times are sometimes extended if trade is brisk. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Situated on the Victoria Quays, this Tom Cobleigh pub overlooks the canal and is a great place for a relaxing drink or an evening meal. The menu is varied and unique for a pub menu in that it offers not only wholesome, home-cooked food but also healthy eating alternatives. For those who like to both eat out and watch what they eat, the healthy heart menu here is perfect. All the food is freshly prepared, the service is very friendly and personal, and the value is unbelievable. Review © 2007, Wcities |
