Small, lively Italian restaurant |
129 Newbould Lane Broomhill Sheffield, South Yorkshire S10 2PL United Kingdom +44 114 266 9656 |
Floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to see exactly what Cafe Buon Cibo is all about even before you enter: it's small, with a simple, modern interior and is popular with young and old alike, though it's usually quite lively. The choice is extensive and is augmented by an ever-changing range of delicious specials on the blackboard. There's no charge for corkage and if you'd like to take alcohol with you, you'll find an off-licence conveniently situated directly opposite the restaurant. Broomhill can be reached from Sheffield city centre within a ten minute walk or three minute taxi ride. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Quality Italian restaurant |
234 Abbeydale Road Sheffield, South Yorkshire S7 1FL United Kingdom +44 114 258 7664 |
Luna Rossa is a relatively recent addition to the Sheffield restaurant scene. Considering the amount of competition in Sheffield, any new Italian restaurant has to be good to survive - and Luna Rossa is. The menu demonstrates the basics of Italian cooking: good ingredients, simple techniques and bold flavours. There is pasta and pizza in abundance but if you look carefully you are certain to find something new and original. How about venison steak, Gorgonzola and spinach for instance? The restaurant has an informal atmosphere, is subtly decorated, and is popular with local couples. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Atmospheric Greek restaurant |
117 Fitzwilliam St Sheffield, South Yorkshire S1 4JP United Kingdom +44 114 272 6000 |
This very large Greek restaurant is based in the city centre, offering Greek and British dishes at reasonable prices. The moussaka is particularly delicious as are other Greek specialities. Though food is only served for two hours, the restaurant stays open into the early hours. Wine can be ordered and a bar serves excellent local bitters. The restaurant is popular with large groups, who enjoy the lively atmosphere which includes traditional plate smashing. Dancing and singing also take place around a small stage. Booking is advisable and can be arranged in person or by phone. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Bistro-style restaurant specializing in seafood |
271 Sharrow Vale Road Sheffield, South Yorkshire S11 8ZF United Kingdom +44 114 266 1069 |
The Mediterranean is one of perhaps half a dozen Sheffield restaurants which have deservedly earned a regional, not just a local, reputation. It specializes in interesting fish dishes, although alternatives (including vegetarian options) are available. Although the theme is Mediterranean, the emphasis is on Spain and, if you don't want the full monty, this is one of the few places in South Yorkshire where you can find genuine tapas. The restaurant is intimate with subdued lighting, candles and a distinctly Spanish feel. Music plays softly throughout the evening. It is popular with couples and with locals of all ages, who often eat here in small groups. A typical meal might include a pan-fried quail salad starter followed by an unusual and delicious dish called zarazuella - a sort of Spanish fish stew. Most of the waiters are Spanish and service is attentive but also laid back: you will not feel rushed. This is a great place to relax and think about that next holiday in the sun! Classy and cutting-edge |
Park Lodge Sheffield, South Yorkshire S8 0LA United Kingdom +44 114 235 3080 |
Seemingly based on a fashionable London brasserie, you might forget that you're still in Sheffield once you step inside this classy, internationally-flavored restaurant, which feels spacious and is decorated in a modern, understated way, in subdued colors, with a good deal of space around tables. There is a set menu as well as an à la carte menu, which consists of seven starters and eight main courses. Dishes are adventurous, steering well clear of the norm, and include several vegetarian options: the quality is generally excellent. The extensive wine list includes many reasonably-priced bottles as well as some more special options. This is a great place to spend an evening and is secluded enough to work well for a date, but is also formal enough to make it a good business choice. Service is attentive but not insistent and you will never feel rushed here. Review © 2007, Wcities |
